Ermera 14 February 2025, Communication and Information Coordinator of the Timor-Leste National Commission for UNESCO (TLNCU) Mr. Emiliano G. da Costa e Silva held a seminar on the memory of the world in the municipality of Ermera, the administrative post of Ermera-Villa, which said that in 1992 UNESCO established a program for the memory of the world. The objective of this program is to raise global awareness about the existence and significance of documentary heritage, facilitate its preservation through the most appropriate techniques, and promote universal access to it.

The Timor-Leste National Commission for UNESCO (TLNCU) from the Communication and Information Division, working together with the Ministry of Education, continues to hold seminars on promoting and safeguarding documentary world heritage to register in the memory of the world. This program is the dissemination of detailed information about documentary heritage, such as ancient objects, such as photographs, visual videos, ancient houses, and others, because these objects have existed since the time of our ancestors, so they need to be protected or valued in the municipality of Ermera.
The Ermera community is enthusiastic because from this seminar they can get very good information because some sites that need to be preserved and many ancient objects that need to be preserved in the municipality of Ermera. The community thanks KNTLU and the Ministry of Education for holding this seminar.
The objective of this seminar is to share information with communities on promoting and safeguarding documentary World Heritage to register in the Memory of the World and transfer to digitization of these ancient objects to save documents from being damaged in the event of a disaster and preserve heritage documents and how to promote universal access to heritage documents.
