Covalima On October 10, 2024, the Timor-Leste National Commission for UNESCO (TLNCU), working together with the Ministry of Education through the Communication and Information Division, held a seminar on Promoting and Safeguarding Documentary World Heritage for Registration in the Memory of the World to report the activity of the Memory of the World in the administrative post of Suai, Covalima municipality.

This program is the dissemination of detailed information about documentary heritage, such as ancient objects that need to be protected or valued in the municipality of Covalima.

Administrator of Suai Administrative Post, Mr. Idelfonso Maria Amaral, said this program is a program of UNESCO through the service of the Timor-Leste National Commission for UNESCO (TLNCU) and held a seminar to promote and safeguard documentary world heritage. The authorities of the municipality of Covalima must promote these documentations ‘that the ancient times of the ancestors to show to the world through the registration of the Memory of the World archive. I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to TLNCU and the Ministry of Education for holding this seminar in the administrative post of Suai, Covalima Municipality.

The objective of this activity is to share information with the communities about promoting and safeguarding documentary world heritage to be registered in the Memory of the World and transferring to digitization of these ancient objects to save documents from being damaged in the event of a disaster and preserve heritage documents, and how to promote access to heritage documents for universal access.

This activity was held in the hall of the Suai administrative post, Covalima municipality, and participated by communities, local authorities, and the village chief.
