Liqueca 12/12/2023 The Timor-Leste National Commission for UNESCO (TLNCU) conducted the opening of the Maumeta Community Learning Centre/Sentru Komunitária Aprendizajen (SKA). The Community Learning Centre/Sentru Komunitária Aprendizajen (SKA) Maumeta was created by the Ministry of Education (ME) through the 2020 Bridge Project, which was funded by the Government of Korea from the National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU).
Secretary General Korea National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU) message through the delegation Head of Public Relations (KNCU) said it is a great honor for me to be able to join you in inaugurating the Maumeta Community Learning Center/Senttru Komunitária Aprendizajen (SKA). This inauguration is very significant and shows good results for the joint work of the Ministry of Education of Timor Leste and also of Korea. I hope very much that the collaboration between the two countries will lead this project, the Birdge Project, to continue to contribute and promote the rights of people who dropped out of school or were not involved in school to promote them as a bridge to bring back education for them. At this time, I would like to appreciate the Minister of Education (ME), Executive Secretary (TLNCU), all authorities of Liqueça municipality, and all competent parties—all who have shown their great efforts to achieve a very successful result to complete this center, the Community Learning Center/Sentru Komunitária Aprendizajen (SKA). I have no doubt that new opportunities of education will be offered in this center, and for everyone in Liqueça to achieve their ultimate dream, I would like to thank you all through this opportunity and I would like to congratulate you on this important vocation.
The programs established at the Community Learning Center/Sentru Komunitária Aprendizajen (SKA) Maumeta are literacy, life skills, and equivalence. The center will facilitate communities who drop out of school to continue school to learn to read and write and also attend courses to learn sewing, English, Korean, computer, and others.
The objective of the inauguration of SKA-Maumeta is to obtain recognition from the Ministry of Education for the programs to be established in this center and support to strengthen the education recurrent teaching for the literacy program for the communities to learn and facilitate the community for those who want to learn sewing courses, computer, English, Korean, and others so that communities can achieve their dreams.
Participants in this activity received maximum presence from the delegation. Head of Public Relations (KNCU), Executive Secretary (TLNCU), represents the Minister of Education, Director General of Recurrent Education, PPI, Finance, Administrator of Liqueça Municipality, Director of Education Liqueça, PNTL Commander and FFDTL Liquiça, local authorities, village chiefs, elderly or traditional leaders, priests, and communities.
